I made this based on a short story I read when I was young. I can't remember the name of it unfortunately, so I made my own spin on it. Its probably not very good because I have never written a story in my life
I always had difficulties trying to sleep. It wasn’t uncommon for me to hear my parents come check on me to see if I was asleep. That was usually at around 11 at night. Because of that, I usually woke up late. The first thing I heard when I awoke was usually my sister yelling at me to get dressed for school. I don’t blame her, I always caused her to be late. I mean, my warm bed is just too hard for me to leave. After a while, I got used to the yelling. Today I woke up late as usual, my sister yelling at me. Although, something was off. I woke up…cold.
“Wake up! Wake up!” my sister yelled while shaking me. I realized I wasn’t in my bed. I was lying on the floor of what I would describe as a prison. I sat up and looked around. The walls and floor were all made of concrete. There were no windows, only a metal door. There was a small gap under the door, but it was too small to fit a hand through. Right next to the door was a plate with rice. On the other side of the room was a channel with flowing water. Other than that, we were in complete isolation.
“Oh, thank god you’re awake!” My sister said. “…We have been kidnapped haven’t we.” I stated, my voice completely monotone. I might be only 11 years old, but I was no moron. What happened was obvious. My sister could only nod. I got up and walked towards the door. There was no handle, its too solid to ram. I pushed against the door. It was locked, obviously. We were completely trapped. The gravity of the situation finally hit me, and I felt tears come to my eyes. But I couldn’t break now, I need to stay strong. This was no time to cry. This is not the time. Not the time. Not the-
My sister pulled me into a hug. At that point I could no longer handle the situation. I cried as I returned the hug. My sister didn’t say anything, she only stroked my hair as I kept bawling. After I stopped crying we stood there for a few minutes before separating. As I looked her in the eye, we had a silent agreement. We will get out.
I might continue this if people are interested, I already have an idea for the next chapters. I haven't thought of names for the characters though. Some tips about writing and some name suggestions would be great
