I see people using the comparison to the flu to make fun of those who have real concern about the coronavirus, but it's not any reason not to take the coronavirus very seriously.
Yes, this. This is the conversation I keep having with the kids I teach.
I don't think a lot of people really appreciate how quickly a virus like this can mutate, especially if it's crossing borders and interacting with a bunch of different immune systems.
(Also a lot of people don't understand how deadly influenza can be for vulnerable people)
