Regarding Fulfillment of Prerequisites
Please defer to a Black Belt or xero901 to see to the judgement of the completion of your prerequisites. Everyone's journey is different and so we may ask more of you or to see certain things done in a more proficient manner if we feel necessary.
Regarding testings and rank promotions.
Anyone is open to testing, anyone and everyone is welcome to enroll and go through the Vyper system even if they are not in the clan. As long as they adhere to the aforementioned guidelines/rules.
Testing will be much different from the Spyder system. You will not be required to be judged to have won a fight with your chosen test partner(s). However, you will be judged on poise, intelligent decision making in the fight, and execution of technique. Defend gracefully, attack wisely, and be patient when neither are available.
Exceptions to the rule can be made if you have had recent fights that very obviously show the skills used to fulfill the prerequisites if they are after the submission of your prerequisites. Please defer to xero901 to see if they are valid.
Xero901 has played since 2009, having a previous account of his banned due to a hacker taking control of his account and trolling the forums. Over the years, he had withdrawn from the community as a whole to focus on his own life in Taekwondo and eventually, Muay Thai, wrestling, boxing, Jiu Jitsu, and MMA. In June of 2020, he had dislocated his shoulder for the third time over a two year stint of injuries and being forced to pull out of fights and tournaments. Coming back to Toribash in his newfound free time, he had discovered Toribash MMA. He quickly found an affinity for it and trained under the tutelage of those at Spyder and Havoc.
Due to philosophical differences in cultivating the best culture for a clan space, Xero has decided to start his own dojo, the Vyper Dojo. By no means does he claim himself to be one of the best Toribash MMA players; but, there are not too many spaces where you will find a consummate knowledge of grappling and striking in the game's community. Xero is confident in his 11 years of martial arts experience and believes that it will serve to be the main difference between Vyper and the majority of the Toribash MMA community as large.
I have trained in martial arts since I was the age of 10. I concidentally also started playing Toribash around the exact same time before I turned 10 years old back in 2009. I started off with Olympic Taekwondo at Pace Academy Taekwondo in Utah. I had become a 5 time state champion in WTF Taekwondo sparring. I had also competed and medaled 2nd and 3rd in multiple international and national Taekwondo tournaments. I had qualified to compete at the Korean open but never traveled there. I have traveled from Utah to Las Vegas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago to compete in Taekwondo. After cementing my year as a black belt as Taekwondo state champion for the 5th time, I switched to Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling, and MMA all at the same time inbetween being 15 and 16 years old. Training my Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, and Boxing at the Phoenix Gym in Sugarhouse, Utah with professional boxers, Muay Thai champions, and local MMA fighters whilst wrestling at Olympus High School. I was scouted out by a MMA fighter from Snake Pit MMA, formerly known as Victory MMA, doing some exhibition fights at the local park when I was 18. I wanted to pursue fighting as a full time career and was forced into a closet underneath my parents' stairs when I turned 18. I was given a time limit to find a new place and all I did with my spare time other than work was train and fight. On the way to making my first MMA debut, I dislocated my shoulder in a training accident. This set off a chain of events in my life that led to two more dislocations and my career being put off to the side. Currently, I am still rehabbing my shoulder and looking to prehab it as well to prepare for a professional MMA career still.
We accept anyone from TFC body MMA, Shootboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Catch Wrestling, Boxing, MAS, or Muay Thai mods.
Aikido, xspar, and other types of players are welcome but encouraged to make the transition over to TFC style bodies and gravity.
