fuck you i'm not narrowing it down

SINGLEPLAYER
sometimes, you just want to be alone

1. batman (excluding arkham knight, haven't played yet)
i've never read a comic book in my life, but the batman games unironically turn me into the soyjak meme.
kicking butts and finding references, finding out more about the world was so cool to me.
i watched gotham, a show set in the universe, and would find so many connections to things i'd seen in the game and i found that really fun.

2. middle-earth
great combat system, nemesis system, and setting. wish i was more familiar with the lore before playing but i still had a great time.

3. witcher 3 (to be finished, also want to play dlcs)
you already fuckin know. great setting, mountains of content, insanely good quests.
haven't finished it and i'm like 70 hours in, but i think i play slowly. i try to do everything i come across.

4. ori
holy fucking shit, these games are awesome. silky smooth, incredibly satisfying movement.
combat toolkit that lets you be creative, especially in WotW. so so much fun, and story is pretty good too.

5. the outer worlds (to be finished)
i'm playing this right now and i never thought i would likea game like this so much.
the world is phenomenal, i am way too attached to my companions.

6. (new) tomb raider (excluding shadow, haven't played yet)
lore isn't as strong here, but the games are still a lot of fun to play.
the kind of puzzle solving that you do in the games is right up my alley, and everything looks so good as well.

7. assassin's creed (excluding 1, revelations, origins, odyssey, valhalla. want to play latter 3.)
i don't much care for the future storyline, but the historical settings are always great.
black flag is definitely my favourite, followed by 2 & brotherhood. unity & syndicate were meh, 3 alright.
i felt much more attached to ezio and edward, and missions in those games felt better to me as well, iirc.
i've seen that there were some drastic(?) changes made from origins onward, hopefully they're better than unity & syndicate
i'm talking pretty negatively here so i want to stress once more that i really enjoyed ezio & edward's stories
bonus meme: ac chronicles china was pretty fun too

8. max payne
played all three games from late december 2018 to early jan 2019.
1 & 2 have this undescribable charm to them, i was really surprised with how much i enjoyed playing them.
my noob ass also found them to be challenging, maybe games really have gotten easier.
3 undoubtedly is the best looking, but it lacks the charm that 1 & 2 had.
i wholeheartedly recommend playing 1 & 2.

9. control (excluding dlcs)
got this as a deal with my graphics card. the game's clunky at times, but i fell in love with the world.
it's a very weird game, in a very good way. fun combat, cool powers.

honourable mentions: heat signature, dishonored, sleeping dogs

MULTIPLAYER
life is better with friends

1. rocket league
there's nothing more satisfying than pulling off a ridiculous team play goal.
been playing on and off for years, can never stay away for too long.
next to toribash, the most amount of hours i have in any game, 1k

2. unravel
solving puzzles with a friend with smooth movement. this was such a joy to play through.

3. a way out
didn't think i'd ever play it, so i watched a playthrough of it.
i ended up playing it with a friend anyway, so my enjoyment was less than it could have been.
it's a good story game.

4. portal 2
i dont think i need to say anything

honourable mentions: dying light, of guards and thieves, overcooked, destiny, warframe, cs:go

CONCLUSION
i put way too much effort into this

- while these entries are numbered, it's not an exact ordering.
- wish i had more time to play these days.
- i know these are mostly normie games, i dont care
- i did not include toribash, even though it is the game i have by far the most hours on (i'm guessing around 3k~4k). i shit on tb for not being as good as other games, but there is a reason i chose to play it instead of other games. i tend to blame it on not being allowed to play games that spin up the fan when i was younger, but there are plenty of other games that wouldn't do that. i guess tb is kind of pog.

- if you read all of this, sorry. thank you. have a nice day.
alright guy
