To preface this, this isn't an attack on staff, just commentary on the state of the situation as a whole. I think staff is too much of a circle jerk at the moment. As long as you're friendly with at least a few staff members you can get a position even if you're absolutely shit at doing whatever that position is supposed to do. It all essentially boils down to hiring based on connections.
A lot of staff members don't even play the game, so how can they make decisions that are right for the game? I'm sure there are many ambitious newer players that have way more potential, but that's never explored because, frankly speaking, toribash staff doesn't listen to players that aren't in the inner circle.
People wonder why TB has such a low player retention rate, but the answer is right there. A lot of staff members that have the power to make improvements are old timers who don't know anything about actually being a player. Of course there's value in moderators who can overlook and maintain the forum, but at the moment that's pretty much what every higher-up staff member is doing.
There needs to be more focus on in-game improvements and in-game active staff with vision for a change, because as it stands the game is still wayy too dependant on the forum, and old players don't seem to have an issue with that.
