Welcome to the Endurance Onslaught : Mod Showcase.
This event is for everyone who likes strikingmods. I wanted to host this for ages now. This event is to bring players out of their comfortzones and to showcase some unusual but good mods which were made throughout the history of Toribash.
• 3 different striking mods will be played in this event. The mods are attached to this post. All mods will have various amounts of winpoints activated.
• Best of 5 matches to decide the game.
• DQ is a loss.
• Timeout is a draw, you must reach the winpointthreshold.
• The first three matches will be played in the order of the mods as they are listed further down.If there have to be more games to be played the two player can decide together in which mods those games will be played. If the players cant reach an agreement on the mod(s) the following games will again be in order of the mods down below.
•When both players reach the winpointlimit in the same frame it is a draw automatically.
(when a match ends by a draw no player will receive a match point, the score stays the same it was before this match started)
•EVERY REPLAY MUST BE POSTED TO AVOID ANY CHEATING SO MAKE SURE TO HAVE AUTOSAVE REPLAY ACTIVATED!!!!!!
•MAKE SURE TO TRY THE WINPOINT SYSTEM BEFOREHAND!
•You can only enter the event with one account! No multiclienting!
Hello, here are some more indepth rules and explainations for this event.
-First of all, I am hosting this event, staff has nothing to do with it
so if any commotion is started about this event talk to me and not staff.
-Second, i hope there wont be any commotion and people just stick to the rules.
-A player loses a match if he quits/disconnects or pings midgame(after the first turn) before someone has reached 80k points or the matchframes have run out.
-If a player is inactive or tries to avoid the matches i will advance the player who has shown more effort contacting his opponent to the next round.Make sure to provide proof of your efforts to contact your opponent.
-If someone cheats or if someone tries to bend the rules in his favours i will ban him from this event.
Just act as a mature person, follow the rules and have fun.
-If there are any questions about the eventrules ask in this thread but do not start a discussion in it.
-As a general note: Every playstyle is valid! Just play the game and the mod how you want it to play!
-You have (almost) all the time in the world here, so dont rush yourself, take your time to set up your comeback/attack.
That being said, the player who can set up a comeback/attack more quickly will usually have the advantage.
-Blocking correctly is important, dont give the opponent points if u can avoid it.
Do not focus on blocking too much tho, rather focus on your attacks.
-Unlike mushu you have to hit with a lot of force to score solid points so make sure to use a lot of momentum and/or speed to your advantage.
-Due to the nature of the rules one single match can either take a long time(if no player hits correctly or some serious blocking is going on) or it can be over in 1-2 good hits.
-Some general differences from wushu to mushu(in case some of you dont know wushu anymore):
-your head does dq completly
-you can not grab
-no instantdms(no dms at all in this event actually)
-Dismemberments are disabled in this event because the points from a dm do not count towards the points calculated towards triggering the win. This can lead to situations in which the win is not triggered although one player already has way over 80k points.
While this means there are no potentially cool decaps there also wont be any annoying,"random" wristdms which i consider to be quite nice.
-Since there are no dms this also means you can pull off moves which would not have been possible in normal wushu.
You can now hit the ground with a lot of force without worrying about your wrist or elbow dming which increases the possibilties for a comeback or a save drastically.
-If the opposing player just stays in an attackposition and is just waiting for you to come to him you have to play it smart and attack him very quickly and from an unexpected angle at best.Your spacing, meaning the distance from your opponent the turn before you attack, and your attacksetup are the most important things here. The roof can be of help here but attacking from above is usually very risky.
Or you just decide to play the waiting game yourself, its totally fine , but both players have to remember that the match is a draw when noone reaches the winpointlimit.
-If a player decides to run away to force a draw and by that a rematch it is also totally fine and within the rules, this is usually only viable a few turns before the matchframes run out tho.but if you know that and you are the player with a pointlead you can expect a run and can potentially use that knowledge to your advantage.
-Sometimes a glitch can happen that a bodypart gets stuck in the walls or roof of the box. That is annoying but i cant fix that.IF that should happen the match will continue as normal EXPECT BOTH players agree to do a rematch for this match. You might have to show some sportmanship in this scenario,or you do not,up to you.
If you are uncomfortable fighting a player who is stuck to the roof, which can be quite a strong position, and that player doesnt agree on a rematch, just tripod on the floor and space the match out to draw it.
Do not try to use this glitch on purpose.
-I did chose the amount of 80k winpoints because ,in my experience, that is an amount of points which usually gives a good fight in a reasonable amount of time.It can be a subject to change during the course of the event if i feel its necessary.
-If someone uses pure usertext and you can therefore not see the points of your opponent at all times just use a different shader and you can see the points again. You can find the shaders under tools in the menu.To go back to the original shader just load the default.inc shader.
Just do not use pure usertext.
A lot of mods were made throughout the history of Toribash. Most people gravitate to the usual, popluar mods like lenshu which is totally understandable because they are tried and tested and you can actually find players to play them with easily. This event is here to give some spotlight to other mods , 2 of which use very intricate rules. A lot of work went into these mods.
Prepare to be challenged.
All mods have winpoints activated(100k winpoints for rkshu.tbm,120k winpoints for pouffyshu.tbm and 30 winpoints for strikingreborn_hhg.tbm).

120k winpoints
-You can use the lattice to move around and to change the direction you are moving in. This can be used to great advantage.
-There is a constant upward force which affects your toris.Kind of similar to realtoriboxing.tbm.
-A decap is an instantwin!
-Knees and elbows DO receive damage!(unusal compared to lenshu, watch out for that)
-compared to lenshu you will experience that points are a bit more easier to get
Check out pouffys modpage for more information. pouffyshu_v1.tbm is a variation of Acroshu. The main differences are that here grabs and fractures are disabled and the gravity has been changed from -90 to -70.pouffy made many awesome mods.

rkshu:
100k winpoints
-Turnframes are 25,25,40.
-Keep an eye on the turnframes( below the matchframes) and plan your next move accordingly.
-The general idea is to use the 2 lowframe turns for precision moves and the 1 highframe turn to execute an attack/a comback.
