Back when I was being pushed to apply for staff by many players I was a bit hesitant on doing so for a variety of reasons but as I was accepted for trial as ES and worked my way through with understanding the game and how the players view in-game/forum based events for content and rewards, I have a pretty good understanding community-wise on what future players might want or enjoy. I tried my best to understand a lot of things staff-related and eventually rekindled my skills as a 3D modeler to try and make assets for Toribash, which lasted briefly due to my current IRL situation. I love this game, I love the way it plays now that I understand how to play realism and do what I want to do, so if the game ever goes offline for good, chances are I'll probably be attempting to get better at tricking and realism like I am doing now when I have time to get better at the game more and more.

My time as staff has given me the blessing(some think curse) of connecting with such a massive mix of players(more than I could've hoped for) ranging from OG's, oldschool/newschool players, staff and legends alike, retired or not. All of the yapping and conversations I've had with them has provided me with a unique perspective on the game not only for myself but for future development for the community, and if the game ever gets to a different stage and becomes relevant to many many new players.

Like anyone else dealing with their personal existence and IRL endeavors, if I were to balance out my life to provide time to be staff again and try to provide a great time for those still active I would do it. Unfortunately, some think the game will collapse and go offline indefinitely before that can be a possibility, in that case I would like to express that I have an interest in building a game one-day like Toribash, hopefully a lot better with a strong and easy to configure player-based creative influence, so that in the event I might not have the time to work on that potential game either the staff on it or players can have an easy time keeping it going or possibly do an even better job than the prior devs or me. I understand wishful thinking and what if's don't really provide a solution nor any certainty, but just know people like Nokia that attempt to provide some certainty or information that allows people to relax a bit are great examples of people who really show their investment with the game, even if they aren't up the communities ass 24/7 talking or doing things all the time.

Here's some resources that are discord based to consider joining:

Jaggers Tricking Dojo: https://discord.gg/pRMQCTHAUY

While some people regard Jaggers technicality and form for tricking to be objective based and not for true 1:1 form/enactments, he provides a unique resource for short and sweet guides with gifs, videos, some sub-chats with detail to help someone become better at tricking than what I've found somewhere else. This server is developed quite well and anyone wanting to get into tricking can know that I vouch for this learning resource 100%, it has helped me get to where I am now, paired with effort and listening to other players.

Matarika's Mod Library: https://discord.gg/fh2eqPVAcB

https://www.youtube.com/@MatarikaToribash

Matarika is not by any means someone who has casually invested their time into the game. Originally being a hardcore forum poster and wanted to be an RPL maker paired with video editing, his skills have adapted overtime for him to be a great realism player, eventually being apart of ES as a modmaker and even being the reason Toribash's in-game modfolder was updated with better quality mods and organized sections.

I will also link his youtube channel, though he's been busy with other things like his custom modmaker and indie projects, he's also taken the time to re-upload to youtube when he can. He's done some live streams delving into modmaking and helping the community out so if you ever catch him on a good day where he's available I definitely think it's worth your time asking him for advice or just to chat.

TMA(ToribashMartialArtists) Server:
https://discord.gg/4udqfxCvmr

This is a server that has re-imagined their identity by trying to be better and more open to other players, having their own championships, amateur events, coaching sessions and more all for players into MMA based mods, boxing, grappling and more. If you're looking for a realism based community that tries to do their own thing attempting to maintain relevancy with new players that join. Keep in mind that they had a rough patch with elitism and competitive toxicity due to the nature of what they base their gameplay on and how they started initially, that doesn't speak for the entirety of the community imo so there's definitely value in joining them if you can.

Mocucha How 2 Run Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srKOnQvXTtU

Mocucha Sparring Ethics Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CDGyUwwTs8

Mocucha is a very reputable content creator in the community of Toribash that has posted anything from montages, cinematic spotlights of other players displaying prominent levels of skill, to guide creation. These two guides I can 100% vouch for as they are still relevant with information that can help you and with effort your dreams of running and sparring with others can become reality if you TRULY pay attention to what he's describing in the videos. Even if you gotta eyeball the monitor and pause/play slow the video down a bit to figure shit out, trust me it's worthwhile.

LesDuncan MP Commentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64_tWrZE45g

While most of his videos have been hidden/archived due to his own personal reasons, This remaining video can be a great example of how the community used to be like in terms of massive competitive lobbies being reviewed and engaged by contributing members of the community. This video is just a fragmentary example on how the game used to be like when it was very active and it was great.

Pouffy's Mod Making Guide: https://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=611097

If anyone wants to go ahead and archive this post from Pouffy and post it somewhere or in the TB discord to be pinned, I definitely can vouch for the validity of this modmaking guide. It's great and explains in great detail all that you really need to kick off your modmaking interests and try to do something for yourself or for others. It's also a really great guide to help you understand why the game works the way it does and this can somewhat help you get better at the game depending on it's use case.

Some other resources I cannot find because they have been deleted/archived/unlisted but I can definitely leave off on a note that while the community size is dwindling to others and things look quite dire for the game atm, those who truly care about the game for what it is will always contemplate if they could keep the game around or try and do something to alleviate the struggle, like how Hagan once had toribashtextures as a service for players, and Matarika developing his custom external modmaker for the game.

The path at which this game follows is nothing but the pursuit of time and human action. Whether from cause or effect just know that the games history has existed and the timeline will always proceed no matter what choices are done, so be very glad that we were all given a chance to enjoy it all if you have been able to do so, don't fall into any nostalgia traps or feel like you regret not doing enough, nobody ever truly knows what will happen in the end.

Hell nah mf you sell this game to tencent them mf's are going to micro transact everything into existence and make the game 128937218937182938192 times worse than it could ever be fathomed, you'd probably have to pay for mods and moving your joints and items would be pay 2 win
