on serious note, if ever tb server become open-source (which I believe will probably never happen), I believe someone can just host it in some free oracle server instance and run it forever. In the past I did some reverse-engineering (no shady things) on the game client and game server. The game server is similar to chess servers architecture with some physics engine shenanigans since its just a 'turn-based' game if you imagine it. Then update the game client to use that server. If not, I am sure there is someone that can probably reverse-engineer the game server (like how many people is able to create different minecraft servers), I believe the ToriLobby/ToriLLE repository has good coverage on how the game server works.
