You make a good point about this being a complex issue, but stealing potential funds isn't really all that different from stealing current funds. Also there is the argument that if the pirating stopped, the products wouldn't cost nearly as much...so really who knows, maybe they aren't out to kill it in the end because they make more money this way. It is complex, indeed.
