Oh aye, else there wouldn't be much pixel art about it. I admit that i have used a little copy-pasting on the flat sections, though, but it's mostly by hand.

Not in Cortex Command, unfortunately. There's no such thing as adding a rotatable joint.

Naw, just kidding, i usually first make an outline, then fill it with color, and then shade it. The filling part is usually done with the filling tool, just to save some time, as it wouldn't really make any difference if i did it by hand, but else it's pixel by pixel. Unless there's long, straight lines to be made, in which case i sometimes use the line tool. The shading also sometimes include the fill tool, though that's mostly with larger sprites, as the GIANORMOUS SHELL.
Also, i was bored, so i felt that it was necessary to make a pencil.
