Usually i agree with established laws, but this is one of those cases where i don't.
What im trying to say is, when you put it like this its allways like you would have to pick a side be a selfjustifying thug or be a self justifying hero, though i like the hero better then the thug, there is allways the third option in wich, you dont understand why the thug stomped the pup but you dont react by terminating that what you dont understand.
So, you just stay inert and let things go as they are.....ok
If the thug had a life in wih he eventually feared love and being fragile, he could have feared that pup and crushed him because of that ( i am not justifying, just a possibillity )
That's still unhealthy and dangerous mindset.
I would still find it disturbing and them as unfit members of society.
Very much like you would crush them because you dont understand how they have their place. I am not saying im able to forgive such people easily but in my belief all it takes to make this world a better place is some respect and understanding for life, keeping an open mind and not judging to fast are the qualities of a wise human. ( in my experience )

It would be marvelous if everyone could just forgive and love everyone and have a jolly good time on this Earth, but this is a pink childish dream. There are
always malfunctional violent people who will keep hurting others for no reason other than to satisfy their sadistic tendencies.
Your whole point is that i can't trust my own judgment enough to do anything about that scenario, but i have to disagree.
So maybe i hereby say i choose the side of the pup and also get my head stomped in by life. If we all take the side of the hero or the thug this world will see nothing else then constant murder ( but thats just my opinion ) no offense to anyone.

Except no good would come from your sacrifice, but on the contrary. Your death would add to the number of murders, and the only chance you had to stop any further murders by those thugs would be lost.
