Big deal, you people are acting like it'll destroy the world.

Oh it is a very big deal. The end of youtube alone would suppress exchange and criticism of ideas and strengthen "information bubbles" of individual communities, slowing down social progress.

I mean, come on, OH GAWD WE CAN'T TORRENT ANYMORE NOW HOW WILL I GET MY GAMES/MUSIC/MOVIES?!?!?! Buy them maybe? It's simply better to buy, it supports the developers AND it supports the people that work in the stores.

Trust me, inability to torrent some game would be the least of our worries if this passes. It would change the face of internet entirely. Anything that's offensive to anyone can be easily censored. And implications of that are terrible.

Sure, it sucks that sites like youtube'll go down, and I'm absolutely dead against it, but what can we do?

Spread the word (as i am doing here) and try to place your votes wisely.

And I know you people will go 'BUT IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE HARMING ANYBODY, LIKE WITH STEALING, BY DOWNLOADING' but that's simply bullshit, since it takes away potential wealth, which in the end comes down to the exact same thing.

This would probably end up costing more money in the long run.
