On topic: We would have to do a lot of stuff to adapt to the change in the ecosystem. If we stop using animals for meat all together at a certain point, then there's going to be an overabundance of livestock and such wafflin' around and stuff.
It's not something that would happen overnight, it's a slow process.
More and more farmers will stop doing what they are doing, slay/sell their last pigs and go do something else. Even then, i don't think farming will stop completely for long time to come. There will always be market for the "traditional stuff" for simple reason of it being from live animals.
