Nice troll post, RDM.
But I'll reply.

Clothes have a lot of purposes, like protection, comfort, style, etc, and I don't really see the advantages of running around in the nude. Why SHOULD we tolerate it? So it was more widely accepted two thousand years back- so was the theory that small animals spontaneously generate and that the Earth is the center of the universe.
I'm saying it should be tolerated.
And not just in the cases when a cute neighbor girl with perky tits runs around the neighborhood - also when a fat hairy Joe decides to go check his mail in the nude. Nudity is not an affliction - it's the default state.
I already listed the benefits cloth provides. That said, when something is beneficial, must it be forced on everyone? Smoking is not beneficial. Let's make it illegal. Eating junk food is not beneficial. Let's ban it. Breathing city smog is not beneficial. Let's make that illegal. Going out in winter without a hat is not beneficial. Let's make it illegal too. Examples are multiple, varying from little things to life-long habits.
I think clothing is almost a physical adaption, a trait of evolving intelligence- after all, no animals have clothing.
...And? Woop-dee-doo?
If we stopped wearing clothing, i trust we wouldn't regress back to picking lice off each other's back in caves. Cloth's original purpose was to help us survive the cold. Now that has almost become a secondary purpose, right after covering our genitals.
Admittedly, most animals have natural 'clothing', fur or scales, but they're typically limited to mild climates or one type of extreme climate as their habitat, whereas clothing lets humans be more versatile in our habitat locations. We could live in the hottest tropics, the coldest arctics, the driest deserts and the most humid floodplains. I think in general clothing is an advancement.
Again, redundant babble. I know the function of clothing and recognize the importance it has played in human survival and adaptation to other regions. too bad that has nothing to do with the point I'm making.
tl;dr: Doing something for no reason at all that could actually be detrimental to your health is illogical and in extension just plain stupid. Why accept that?
No reason? What about satisfaction?
It's like saying drinking alcohol should not be accepted because it can be very detrimental. Life is about satisfaction and fulfillment of one's desires. Alcohol may be detrimental to your health, but it serves a purpose nonetheless. Amusingly, it was developed all over the world just like clothing.
