Why do you assume it would have an effect? In what way would legalised nudity cause fat people to become slimmer?
If you don't see the connection, perhaps i should illustrate an example.
Many people only actively exercise several months before summer, to shed off the lard they stored during cold months filled with holidays. Why do they do it? Beaches. Having to be naked (almost). Of course, people who are too insecure of their shape don't go to beaches, but.....if beaches go to them....Do i really need to chew it out?

could have. It's not at all why i brought it up. I brought it up because i think there is something wrong with the attitude society has towards nudity. Tits are ungodly, and penis is a work of Satan himself. I am sure there is some evolutionary underpinning (and i took a shot to guess it when i talked about cloth) but nevertheless i think it's redundant and in some ways, unhealthy.

SERIOUS: One thing I thought of recently was that people in America with extremist views against nudity would act out violently against anyone walking down the street in their birthday suit. Sure, assault is against the law etc but they're acting on emotion, not rationality; they wouldn't really care about jailtime being a consequence of CLEANSING THE STREETS OF THESE HEATHENS HORHORHOR. There's plenty of these ultraconservatives, too; I guarantee there are at least 50,000 (though there's no real statistic for this) if not more people who would lash out at nudists. I really don't think the extra 'sexual freedom' is worth the backlash that would result from nudity becoming legalized. Again, maybe implementing restrictive zones would at least decrease the number of attacks against people in the nude, but still- you have to realize that a lot of people who participated in being nude would get hurt if not get killed by ultraconservatives.
