They can't. Since this was based off of court case, congress and senate and even the President cant really do anything yet. Kind of a HUGE GAPING flaw in the whole checks and balances thing that is supposed to keep shit like this (that the majority of the country disagrees with) from happening. Hopefully something will done, but since this is politics, it will no doubt take a long time, and end up being slightly disappointing if not worse.
