Internet privacy is almost nonexistent.
A perfect example is the social networking, which is claimed by most of the internet users as the only meaningful feature that internet has. Having that in mind, lets consider this:
When you create a Facebook account, you are automatically claiming that you want people to know more about you, you are giving everyone the chance to know things such as your name, age, appearance and much more, therefore, you have no right to complain (for example) about privacy.
Of course, that doesnt mean that someone has the right to use those information to harm you, but that is the important issue: you have nothing to fear, if you USE COMMON SENSE: when people realize that there isnt any reason to specify minutely each detail of your personal life, I assure you that all the crimes related to social networking would be reduced drastically.
Moral: dont join social networks if you really want privacy.
