Lol no bud, I dont think he meant brighten it... If you look at the set... its the same color as the background, and it blends in to much... It just looks like a whole bunch of shapes... he wants you to kind of exclude his set (make his set pop out more then the background and not let it seem like it blends in so much... So maybe do a light white glow around the tori)
