The building etc is still there (since other things are in it) but Sony literally killed the studio rather than merely ditching it. The game IPs belong to various other companies so they've been left with pretty much nothing, hopefully they'll start a new company or at the very least manage to get jobs.
Probably not as big a deal to gamers outside the UK, but from '84 to the mid 90's (before Sony relegated them to being the WipeOut/F1 guys) Psygnosis were the go-to company if you wanted something with quality. Pretty much my gaming childhood/teens in a nutshell.
RIP Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool.
