I am a big fan of bread products because I really like bread. I wouldn't call bagels an appetizer, but that is one of my favorite (along with a boatload of cream cheese).

As for appetizer related things, I like bread sticks from local pizza joints here. The pizza place I go top has bread sticks made with cheddar cheese baked on the bread and once finished they either sprinkle parmesan or some kind of garlic seasoning. It's really good served with ranch or marinara.

My opinion on restaurant style bread sticks... They could have more of a crunchy exterior.
