[ART] detectosaurus
Another dinosaur, ayup. This forum needs more dinosaur. But this time i've actually saved a few individual stages of it, just for viewing
pleasure pain and slight insight.
Basically i just drew it like that on the white background. Probably not the best practice to pursue, but it does save a lot of time when compared to sketching the shapes down and THEN detailing them.
As can be imagined, this is all about brawling the pen tool to get the curves to roughly match up to the doodled lines. Takes some time, but it's pretty relaxing once you get in the mojo.
Here i basically exploited the fact that i have thick lines going, in the sense that i used the lasso (and later pen tool) to select an area with the border inside the lines. Using the bucket tool on a lower layer then totally masks the fact that the colouring isn't entirely coherent.
AND STEP FOUR
The final product. I know i messed up the shadow in some places, but i can't be assed fixing that right now. What do y'all think? Terrible? Acceptable? Abysmal?
