Yep, insane alcoholic mother is something I was unlucky to have. Anyways, sometimes there are points where you aren't going to be able to handle it. But for the most part, as long as you keep understanding (in situations where you know she's in the wrong) that you didn't do anything in which she should be taking so harshly upon. Ignoring it and just waiting for her to calm down is usually the best bet. Talking back usually ends up in them screaming for longer periods of time.
