My recommendation is to not team up, just as that guy was thinking. It seems to be a good way to instantly filter out the serious people from the people who still trust the rules.
It's a game where they know there will be people all over the place trying all kinds of things. It wouldn't be that stupid to just cut most of them off by giving them false rules.
