You've voiced your opinion in the past about how you very much disagree with a volunteer system Toribash has going on with most to all of it's staff positions. It's duly noted. I just want you to remember that clearly there are plenty of people who do like or want to volunteer to make Toribash a better game. And in this situation they're (the people who try to win this) receiving a legitimate payment for it. And recognize that not everyone entering this are 16+ and can just go out and get a job. Furthermore, many internet games that are a lot bigger fish in the sea like World of Warcraft offer a lot smaller incentives for referring a friend to the game, where Blizzard/Activision makes money very blatantly off the situation as the game ISN'T free. It's a normal constitution of video games, and shouldn't be considered shady.

Regardless: the more people joining Toribash the better. Maybe events like these will encourage guys like Hampa to polish up Toribash more and implement all of the things you talked about in your "E-sport edition".

as i said, anybody who is more or less literate will look on using multi-level marketing as sort of scam. it's often used as last resort for games that loosing their popularity. in other case, a huge "red flag". for example planetside.

i'm strongly against using such marketing tools as MLM for any cause, because the tool itself is a well known scam. and thats pretty much the main reason.
when any company start to use this tool to get more customers you know that they have run into trouble, or they are fraud, so you clearly want to avoid these folks.

there are alot of marketing tools that may help to gain customers and there are some that scare em away. try to look on it from this perspective.
