but the melody was pretty beautiful, I'm just sure the song in it's entirety would be better if reverb and some different sounds were used

so, yeah, gj, just work on making it not so empty-sounding and use some different sounds for your songs. The sounds used in AfterHours sound way similar to the ones you used here. you're good at making melodies and stuff.
