Plus, from a physical standpoint, this is a 200 pound, 5'8" man who can supposedly bench press 400 pounds hitting a woman that probably weighs between 100-150 pounds, and knocking her unconscious. He has been hit harder playing football than he will ever be hit by his now wife. His actions are entirely unjustified, even if she hit first, as he is in no real threat from his fiancee at the time. His actions appear to only be an exertion of dominance through force.
I mean, I wanna know from the guys of toribash. What would you do in this situation? Like really ask yourself and think about it.... from an unbiased perspective, would you really sit there and take the abuse regardless of the punishment he receives from football. He gets payed to take that punishment, not to be physically hit by a woman [Not defending his actions just looking at both perspectives]
Also note that this was at a casino, so intoxication may play a factor in both their actions.
