Do more H.R.Giger. He's probably one of the best examples of going in to a huge amount of detail. Use some of his drawings and try to draw it ALL. Meaning the tiny cracks, textures etc... Overall that should take you around 1 week :>
But seriously using his artwork is one of the best ways to practice ever.
