I think lat drops are a really important study because traditional judo doesnt have "chest to chest" throws which are more common in toribash aikido. i have some replays of this throw. ill post them tonight when i get home.

heres my input. the lateral drop is like a sacrifice throw where you get dangerously low, with your opponent on top weighing you down. now you could do it like snake where you completely drop your base (wubwub) or my way which seems a bit safer but less powerful. same dq.
you need at least one bent leg to fall on and you first lead rotate in one direction and then switch. the key is to stay low and underneath ur opponent and also save your movements. i like to switch rotate-chest first and then next turn i extend and contract pecs appropriately. like in the kolat video your pulling shoulder should be lowered (overhook) and your pushing shoulder should be raised (underhook). use ur hips abs and lumbar for a nice back arch and ofc watch your head.
