If you think it's something to do with your graphics card, check if there's new drivers out for it, if there are then install them. Even if this doesn't fix your problem it kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

And when you say start does it give an error message or does it just flash up and then close?
Also what toribash type are you using, if steam then right click the game in your library and select verify integrity of game cache.
