Ele and I have been thinking.
Community service time, guys. The S&I board is full of stupid/vague/unhelpful posts, and so barely anything gets accomplished. I am heavily involved with the board, so I want to sort it out. We as a group will help out by putting together a plan for reform that we'll bring to the S&I mods.

The Plan:

Current problems:
- Inactive/slacking lmods
- Poor post quality (in general)
- Discussion doesn't advance ideas - negative posts that don't do anything to improve the idea
- OP lacks potential for idea development

Fixes to problems:
- Inactivity:
S&I work tends to grind down the motivation of new lmods, leaving them inactive after a few months. To implement any plan for reform, we're going to need active lmods that know the go. Clear out any inactive/poor lmods and replace them with people who want to get the job done.
- Poor post quality + Discussion doesn't advance ideas
Enforce the pre-existing rules + Skul's post guide. Include rules that specify that posts *must* not shoot down an idea without including some way to improve it. For a board devoted to the development of ideas, there should be no criticism without constructivity.
- OP lacks potential for idea development
Write a 'How to make a suggestion' post and sticky it. It should include advice on structuring suggestions and how to meet all of the standards that the board expects.
