As for the jump, it's entirely possible. I'm lazy and only put 2 minutes into this one, so I had to grab the ledge ;) I just set my launcher with a better angle and used both legs to shoot away. You can get even longer if you do it better.

Edit: Oh, don't forget about using arms to give momentum. Raise them shoulders!
