That said, I don't think this is as opinionated or as black and white as you make it seem. You can point out more than just mods that are "terrible competitively". It's pretty obvious to me that if the mod puts the opponent on a crutch (like my previous examples have stated) that the mod is less competitively sound when looking towards a player winning consistently because of his skill level. Like I said though, there's no reason to discredit the other mods completely, they have to be considered relative to other mods that (I would say, though I'm no authority - take what you will with a grain of salt) allow a good player to more consistently beat their opponent by using skill. Saying that variants of the mods are just as good as a blanket statement is false. If the variant has changes that make it easier for the bad player to combat the good player then that mod is less consistent from a competitive standpoint than one that deepens the necessity for good game knowledge and mechanical prowess. Currently your argument is "this is all opinion based" by looking through my reasoning with the slanted view that I'm saying "lenshu3ng.tbm is perfect in its settings, this is the only way to play Toribash at a competitive level" when that's not what I'm saying at all.

I do give you credit ;o

With a bit of hindsight, I think my opinion is biased anyway. I play way too much wushu and way too little of any other mod to have an objective opinion on the matter. I'm sure I can consistently beat players with less experience in wushu, and what decides the outcome of a match inbetween 2 players with approximatively the same experience/skill-level is that the one making more mistakes will lose the game, which makes sense under a competitive aspect imo.

So, wushu being my main mod, I percieve it as a very competitive one, and my experiences with lenshu3ng and rk-mma were pretty similar as it involved the same strategies and way of playing the game and showed the same results. I've seen good lenshu players being rekt in wushu, and good wushu players being rekt in lenshu, and I've seen good players streaking on lesser players or losing because of their own mistakes in both. That's why I say they're probably all at the same "competitive level", based on my own experience and observations. Which is probably why I assumed you based your opinion on your own experience, as it's pretty natural, and theorizing on mods we don't play generally doesn't turn out to be accurate.

That's why the OP question can't be answered imo : people can either have an opinion based on their own experience and mods they play + their own self awarness, or they can theorize on mods they barelly know/play and assume things. It's hard, if not impossible, to be objective if you don't have a total knowledge of all the mods in question, and if you didn't play them all with the same dedication.

On another note, for people thinking abd is the top notch stuff : I played some abd yesterday in the 5000 TC tourney room ; I'm a scrub in abd, it probably was like the 4th or 5th time I played it since I started TB, I'm like rank 180k+ and have very little to no experience in that mod. Tho I've beaten a couple of dudes under 1k abd mod rank (and therefore more experience than me in that mod). I've also seen people winning just by Tripoding/"Quadripoding", which is lame as fuk.
