I've noticed in a lot of schools in Australia, languages such as Japanese, Italian, German, French etc., get taught, but there's no Mandarin.
Mandarin is the most spoken language in the entire world, yet other languages that don't have that title are part of the curriculum.
Tl;dr, Mandarin.
Probably because Mandarin is mostly spoken by Chinese, and China has a population of 1 billion, heck, about the same as the amount of people who speak English. I'd assume that these languages are spoken by many people spread out across the globe, not just because alot of people use it as a primary form of communication.
