There is value in common knowledge, this world isn't only about succeeding in business life. That is why we teach history, psychology etcetc. to understand ourselves and others better, not only to succeed in life. And higher level schools such as colleges and special high schools do teach those things. You shouldnt teach business, taxes etc, to a 10 year old imho.
