Hip throws are something I struggle with, and I know Timmy does as well. The problem is the setup for me - a standard hip throw is done facing away from your opponent with you hand on their shoulder/arm and their belt. When doing a hip throw in toribash 9 times out of 10 you'll be holding hands with the other tori. It makes them very easy and not as effective as many other throws.
Although if you sweep with your leg and then throw them over the same hip and use the leg as a lever it works nicely - though this is extremely aggressive.
