"Perhaps these healthy, young men running away from their own wars is the main problem. It's called 'desertion', and it just helps prolong these conflicts."

You first have to be a soldier to desert the army, most of them are just regular people who'd like to live and even tho, a lot of them fought a civil war against the dictatorship in place in Syria ; they got brutally slaughtered... And even if they had won, the country would still die because it became dry as fuck (Syrian people are actually the first wave of climat refugees, what started their civil war was massive starvation because cultures had died a few years in a row because of climat changes).

Some people did stay and keep fighting : the Anti-Assad rebels, which are mostly radical islamists financed by Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and The international coalition (USA, Canada, EU etc...) because those radical islamists are also at war against ISIS.
So there you have it, healthy young syrian men staying, fighting their dictator's army and ISIS, and getting enroled in radical movements. How does that make the conflict any shorter or less complicated ? They'd be better off running far from that shiet the Occident started decades ago.

@Tank

"They're not coming to get away they're coming to start a new life. They aint gonna return when the problems are resolved, are they? no. We have to pay taxes etc just for them to live and in return they do NOTHING but consume space and goods and earnings from other people etc.

Isis is becoming a bigger threat everyday. WW3 WILL HAPPEN."

If your country were at war and you had to get away from it in order to survive and, at some point, the "problems get resolved"... would you not move back to your country to rebuild it and start something better instead of staying in a country full of racist fucks thinking you're probably a terrorist, or here to "profit from the taxes and waste space and goods", and don't want you here anyway ?

Those people are just human beings, they're not parasytes coming to drink your Mountain Dew.

WW3 will happen, but ISIS ain't shiet. Why do you think they use psychological warfare, terrorize people and lead those kind of attacks ? They're nothing, 2 billions $$ and 30.000 men is nothing against the international communities. People just freak the fuck out because the wars their leaders, and therefore their countries, have started -or got involved with- ended up on their front door rather than behind their TV screen.
Welcome to fracking reality. You don't want war ? Don't vote and give legitimacy to people who doesn't give a fuck about you and will keep the war going as long as there are natural ressources to "take".

@Hyde

"That's what you'd expect from an active warzone, I don't see why they have to flee to Germany or France."

Well, simply because they want to get away from the active warzone as fast & far as possible, and because EU is reputed to be an area with some rather humanist values and would most likely help them.

"Sure, you have some valid points here, but you can't disagree with the fact that more immigrants flooding into the west is a bad thing. You can't culturally assimilate people that hate you."

But here is the thing tho, those people do not inherently hate us, and even for those who do, "hate" becomes all relative when it becomes a question of life and death. And a vast majority of them actually have progressist ideas and don't want their country(ies) to be ruled by radical madfucks, most of them just want to be free and safe, like the vast majority of people.
But sure, if you're going to tell them to go fuck themselves and die in their country -which destruction was heavily influenced by our own countries' international policy- they'll probably won't hold much love for you.

Also, statistically, migrants are a good way to keep our aging population from being overwhelmed with elderly people.

And for ya all, a nice graphics explaining allies/ennemies in that region :

(title : Syria, the ennemies of my ennemies.

Affrontements sur le terrain (red arrows) = field combats
Bombardement aérien = airstrikes
Etat(s) = State(s)

The rest is pretty easy to understand, words just look like english ones)

Edit : Ho and also, keep in mind that graph is probably incomplete and changing, and mostly shows "official positions". It doesn't take into account "who sells weapon to who" and all those stuff.
