It's easy to fall into such theories because it simplifies a situation that is originally complicated, and have been for decades.

the "western alliance" have been occupying that region and exploiting its ressources for decades, wars and terrorism/insurgency are the products of that foreign policy, not the other way around. Just like Irak, Westerners just need to claim they're going to fight a merciless dictator and bring some freedom, terrorism is a bonus consequence, it scares random people who aren't in war zones, giving more legitimacy to the conflicts in middle-east to the eyes of the voters, and that's where everything is played. No one wants their country to be at war unless it's for a "good cause".

It's not manipulation of the mass by evil governments, you'd be surprised how short sighted governments really are, they're opportunists : they just take advantage of what that complicated situation can offer them.

"To wether it will escalate to a world war, we are not certain. With the alliances of the EU, one country will definitely help another. ISIS has one thing that we don't: the power to kill the innocent for no cost.

Killing the innocent in our realm is considered morbid and a war crime, but ISIS things the opposite of this."

Do you really think no innocent got killed by the USA/EU during all those years they've been involved in conflicts in the middle east ? Why do you think people turn to extremism in the first place ?
