Allow me to steer this conversation closer to something that I intended when I made this thread. What do we consider normal today that has glaring ethical considerations that are overlooked? Factory farming, for example. Anyone who's seen the conditions that we kill animals in satisfy our consumption needs is surely taken aback at how horrific it is. Yet we're convinced that it's a necessary evil, regardless of how immoral we think it is.

What other examples of 'moral negligence' in our society can you think of?
