I just finished Mirai Nikki, and jesus christ what a train wreck. I did enjoy it, but Yukiteru is the MOST IGNORANT, IDIOTIC, NAIVE, SELFISH, CHILDISH CHARACTER EVER AND IT MADE ME ANGRY. Though I'm pretty sure that was intended, but to the very last line of the goddamn show he was being a sulking pussy and it pissed me off. The 9th was my favorite character by far and a few others like Yuki's friends were entertaining. At least the insanity that some of the characters portrayed was justified by their pasts, but Yukiteru was just a cry baby who couldn't accept his parents divorce. Even though I put this in a spoiler I won't spoil, but Yuno went through some tough shit, most of the future diary holders were either decent people or had actually depressing pasts. Other than the 3rd who didnt get much backstory, the 10th who was just a weird dog guy, and the 11th who was a genius who wanted to create an army or whatever they were all justified for being insane to some degree. Yukiteru on the other hand was just a bitch. The way he just forgives and forgets when someone says they will be his friend is pathetic and he would have died immediately if it weren't for his stalker.

I actually thought the show itself was pretty good, the way it explained it's supernatural events was fine and understandable, some people(lookin at you Mr. Akise Aru, people who've seen it know what I mean) did some pretty unbelievable things, but I suspended my disbelief halfway through the show so it was fine. Other than that the characters, art, and even story were good enough to be entertaining, but goddamnit Yukiteru took years off my lifespan. FIN
