What method do you guys use for playing toribash?

I use the scroll-wheel for extending and contracting and x for hold and relax (and ofc the c and v sometimes when needed).
And because of that i have problem when using my laptop without a mouse, I've been trying to use the trackpad and the z and x method but it does not feel as fast to me.

What works the best for you guys and why do you use it?
