Also for gaems it largely depends on what you even like, but some of the winners for me are/have been Thumper, Nioh, Brutal Doom (a mod for classic Doom 1/2) and uhhhhh Shovel Knight. All of them potentially rather challenging, but i'm assuming you don't mind a bit of difficulty. :V
