Gun violence mostly, it's pretty much mentioned by guns slinging around or killing people all while hinting over mass shootings. The song itself was eh but I thought it was mainly for the video. Showing that the bodies were dragged like they were worth nothing and the guns themselves were carried off with much care every single time.
Didn't want to clog up the main post with different point of views and what not, so I'll give them here.
A lot of people seem to think about racism due to the pose at 00:52 resembling the
jim crow pose, as well as the killing at 1:55 possibly being a reference to the
Charleston Church Massacre. I can understand where this is coming from, but I don't necessarily agree with it.
Personally, I think he's trying to show that we generally ignore all of these problems by having the camera focused on him while chaos goes on in the background. When a mass shooting happens we're horrified for a short time and then we go right back to how things were before. We've been desensitized.
I do agree with it having a lot to do with gun violence. The man who's shot at around 00:50 is simply dragged away and the pistol is carefully placed on a cushion, showing that guns are more valued with people.
