Lol terms come and go every year. It's pretty normal.

From back then you had "rad" and "groovy." "Hip," "swank," and then terms like "gucci" and "bae." It's just a cycle where the current people who are younger make them up and as they get older they'll just be reminded of the new terms used when they were once young.
