Why do we trust toothpastes recommended by dentists??
Seriously, am I the only one wondering this.
On one hand it seems liek they're recommending it for a reason that it's good...
But think about it...
Dentists make money off us going to see them about our teeth.
Dentists recommend quite a lot of toothpaste products which 'take care' of your teeth and to use them daily, once when you wake up and once when you go to sleep.
Toothpaste contains fluoride, which comes from fluorine which is a harmful and poisonous chemical. That said, it may be their intention.
If they recommend the toothpaste, and we use it, they could be scamming us into using a product that weakens the barrier on our teeth in order to make us go back to the dentist.
Thus they're making more money out of our teeth, one; by originally going to them, two; by buying the toothpaste they recommend, and three; using it and returning.

My friend has never used toothpaste whilst brushing his teeth (He doesn't eat sweets/drink fizzy either..) and his teeth are pretty much perfect. Whereas other people who do use them still get infections like gum disease.

So what are your thoughts on this.
Do you trust them, if so, why?
Do you not trust them, if so.. justify your reason.

Do you have any articles stating that toothpaste is detrimental to us? I don't really have an opinion on it, but if I saw proof of your suspicions I may agree.
Heres one that I have found. Although this is more like a mental debate thats been going on, this article displays the harmful substances in toothpastes

And this post is what made me originally start thinking about this.

Neither of those links show any cases of toothpaste actually harming you.
If you're trying to argue dentists are causing other people's bad teeth and gum disease by offering up toothpaste, I'd argue that isn't the case. I had this phase where I didn't brush my teeth at all until the day before a dentist appointment. I had gum disease. I can guarantee that tooth paste doesn't cause that, since I didn't use any.
So yeah, use toothpaste until some ground-breaking evidence emerges that toothpaste is bad.
Grabbing at straws: the agenda

There are no actual studies that show toothpaste to be harmful
Also did you ever consider that brushing your teeth might make the job of a dentist easier
Plus you get to have white teeth.

Anyway your implying that people don't go to the dentist if they have good oral health which is also dumb
oxisudofrenohypoglycemolicodin
Toothpaste does help with maintaining healthy teeth. I don't believe whatsoever that dentists are plotting an evil scheme to keep us going to them. To be honest I probably haven't been to the dentist in around 7 years, except for a clean up hear and there.
Curious aren't you.
Well thank you for shedding some light on the situation, I know I don't have any concrete evidence or cases but it's something that has crossed my mind a few times and that I like to research and look up on from time to time.
Id just like to take a moment to appreciate that it shows "Why do we trust toothpastes..." when browsing the forums.

Also on that note, why do we trust anything in this world (modern medicine etc.). I fail to understand this thread
So, seeing you say "Toothpaste contains fluoride so it's bad for you" makes me cringe so fucking hard it may require plastic surgery to fix my face.

Florine is bad for you, fluoride is completely different.

Here's a reference for you.

So if you actually take the time to watch that video, you'll realize your argument is completely idiotic. Dentists aren't all a bunch of money hungry whores, mine is actually pretty down to earth, he gave me a recommendation that they aren't sponsored by because he knew it would help me.

You seem like the same kind of person that would fight for the "Vaccines cause autism" stupidity.
My signature was too long so I got this pretty rainbow here instead now. Isn't it nice? This is a nice rainbow.
