2 wushu rooms with less than 10

your thoughts?

because i think it's not only dead but also started to rot, gg

On the contrary I find it pretty much alive. There's no correlation inbetween the amount of mushu rooms and the state of wushu, they're nothing alike. There even was a 200k tourney with a lot of people a couple of days ago, and using your wushubox mod snek !

Mushu is a fun "noob friendly" mod (new players generally like lots of dm and funny fights), if anything it familiarizes new players with low gravity & long tf and on the long term they might turn to wushu.
Wushu from my perspective was always kind of an old schooler/hipster mod, that not many newer people played. I don't see many people playing wushu anymore, but mushu is much more popular because of the attractiveness to newer players with the addition of "WOW HE EXPLODED WHEN I TOUCHED HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

*ahem*
I do personally believe that Wushu has met it's match, however it may come back if someone does what Erth did with TK, and it somehow manages to work. Currently as it stands however, I don't see it being a very popular mod anymore, some people may still play it because of nostalgia.

As far as the whole rotting thing goes, I wholeheartedly agree. People get so fucking salty over everything nowadays when you make any slight mistake, I do like Wushu for the fact that you don't have to play as stiff as possible to win,
/me looks at ABD
But if you run or snapkick in ABD, no one cares. If you do that in Wushu, you're going to get hanged.
My signature was too long so I got this pretty rainbow here instead now. Isn't it nice? This is a nice rainbow.

Risk did this to me and I hate him forever, please join the official "Fuck Risk in the Ass With a Live Bat" social group to join me in hating Risk:

Actually not, the state of mind has kinda been shifting from that perspective lately. Running is unfair and people don't like to lose to runners, but we're coming to a point it's accepted and if you don't catch up to the runner it's your own fault. We're a few trying to make wushu evolve to limit running inside the boundaries of what's possible with the modmaker. I introduced a dojo and a better point distribution for instance (wushu_2015), snake made a physical octogon (wushu3box) but they both need further tweaks and aren't "final products".
Marstunom is supposed to be working on a dome-like room on which we'll put no-friction, and we'll see what happens.

We can also expect some new metagoals and winning conditions, such as a "win treshold by points" in the future. That'd be great.

Wushu is not dead, it's actually the only mod that has a community actively trying to improv it, and every mod could use some improvement.

Also, And I see a lot of new faces around in wushu lobbies.

Edit :

And if we're gonna take a look at the server list at moment X, I've also seen 8 almost empty mushu rooms and 2 crowded wushu rooms at moment Y.

Edit 2 :

There actually are as many players in the 2 wushu rooms right now as there are players in the 6 mushu ones (17 and 17).

Ontopic: The wushu rooms have a peak between 19:00 and a few hours past midnight gmt+0, but yes, midday a majority of the games population does not play this mod. (I will not touch upon the subject why)

However, there has been a decline in the wushu participators since the wushu8 room got removed, however no GM or similar seems to have openly wanted to discuss the topic of why this might have been a good thing for the members swinging by for a few games of wushu. Most of the time you will find a bunch of 10th dans and master belters play a few games, have the server flood with tripoding bluebelts and selfdisqualifying spasming ragdolls having issues staying up on their limbs before a private room is formed whereto those competing at a higher level move.
Now doing recoloring for people not in the clan as-well, PM for more info!

As a new player back in 2013, wushu appealed to me as a more fluid gamemode, with a large skill cap, and on the bottom line, harder, for me. With the more advanced players having long strung out games, moving backwards and forwards, with a revolutionary ease.

And then with the prestigious clan fl0w, something I tried out my mind to join (and would still be honoured to join, to this day). The one clan that appealed to me as having a different view, a bit like urban, but with the iconic user title, every time I saw it, all respect went to the selected and few, fl0w members.

All of this based around wushu, a much more graceful game with an aurora of calm about it, yet still appealing to the competitive side of people, like deprav mentioned. I struggle to see the negatives and how people could go off it to be honest.

It's easy to run from your opponent and well noobs do that cause they wanna win badly, so for me in 2/3 games I play people run from me, if they get more points which is like very rarely.

If that's the case, it's 20 turns of 20 seconds or long time of frustration where you can't do anything to save yourself (cause either enemy has ran or you've got fracts or whatever or a lot less points so you can't fight anymore)

It's like when in Dota 2 you had early lead and now it turns out enemy team just have better carries and tide is turning over and you'll lose over 15-25 slow minutes and can't help it

That's less of a problem with a dojo/room tho, since runners can't run in a straight line it gets easier to catch up.

Yeah I agree, I'm originally not a fan of boxes/rooms. It's fun but it doesn't serve its purpose well (limiting running), as it's easy to redirect your momentum from the walls and run away again.

When we have the dome-like room we'll probably try it with no-friction walls so being pressed against the wall becomes more of a disadvantage rather than a helpful position.

You should try wushu with dojo :3
wushu is not dead... yet. As a player, mushu's fun (esp. boxshumushu) thats why people love mushu B)
It would be great to see dead things come to life... when there will be no wushu rooms, it'd be fun to host a wushu tournament :3 oldies will remember, do cool comebacks, inspire the noobs to play wushu. Who knows.
