Wow, I hate it when 3rd-parties prematurely end conversations/arguments. You can't just end something as complex as a debate (or as close as this thread will ever get to one) because the subject will still be there and people will still harbor their opinions. What you can do is silence it. However, why would you? Mentioning rape in any context makes someone uncomfortable? ЙScrew them! These are things that need to be talked about. Is rape something that should be mentioned casually? If it is, should one accept it or should they try to change it? Should you people work those conformist sticks out of your asses and choose what's right and what's wrong for yourselves? Mastering the content of the course is the only thing you should grade no matter how that student might behave or act during class.
However, you can only grade conduct IF it's associated with the class goals, and explain the student how that behavior affect his grade. But you can never evaluate conduct alone.
The instructor and personnel of the school should follow a process and avoid taking arbitrary actions if the student has some issues that need to be resolve, simple.

Evaluating those issues can be approach by telling the student to stop, or he/she will be taken out of the classroom and dealt with.
Some school personnel guidance, parent meeting should take care of this issue. Bullying and fighting it's not what you go to school for, there's more depth in that issue.
Of course the school can intervene, but those problem start at home most of the time. Same as cursing the teacher, it's not normal to curse at a teacher. (Where's your morals at?)
