@Hucota7: You've only played through less than one tenth of the game bro. Expect the last few levels to be really hard when i get around to making them. :U

@Bilza: Great! I'm having a tad of trouble with the GUI and such, because... Well, those things are MASSIVE when compared to the rest of the sprites, and while i kind of like the simple looks right now, they won't cut it for the final version.

Edit: FHSDFJHSGDF ninja Mwah. Anyways no, haven't found a name yet. This could be a bit tricky, because i don't want a generic name for it. =P

Doubledit: Right guys, the boss is now officially a complete nightmare to fight. Its autotracking turrets hit you perfectly even if you you move sideways, and the big lasers will kill you rapidly if you don't move enough. Might have to slow the boss' movement to compensate for this. :U

Right, apologies for double post, but the new demo is ready. New features:

- Music!
- Credits (with my name in them :U)
- Boss is now ridiculously hard, good luck!

Download here

Also, can't be assed to fix the endlevel message in Level 2.

Aye, the boss is surprisingly easy if you know how to beat it, but otherwise it's dreadfully hard. :U

@DeeJayy: Nice job. Took me more than two tries to get the better of it. >.>

@LexxRk: Just you wait till difficulties get implemented. ;o

@Chartle: Hmm, i see what you mean. The lasers and explosions completely drown the music at times, which is a shame when it is so good. Thanks for pointing it out.
Also, how the heck am i supposed to fit a giant lizard into this game? =P

@sidieldani: Like Deejayy said. It's the only way as far as i know, because you can't outrun the lasers, you can't go behind the boss and you most certainly can't stand still and take it down before you die. I think this is how the boss will be in the final version as well, because it's only the first boss. Maybe it'll be a tad tougher, because right now you're not really equipped to deal with a foe like that.

@Infern0o: Oh, that'd be a slip on my part. It also explains how Splinter might have gotten such a score, but then again, he might just have played really really well as well. :U (i can't get much more than 7600 myself without dying)
I've fixed this now though, by having two different scores; level score and total score, as seen here:

Dying subtracts the level score from the total score and resets it, so it's like you never played the level to begin with. Still need to tweak the position a little. :U

@Blam: Ah, i see. It might be true, but unfortunately, making it happen will require me to move every single enemy backwards in relation to each other, which will take a monumental amount of time. :c
HOWEVER, when i finish the game, i might make a turbo edition that runs at twice the speed. Just for lulz.

Current progress:
- Tweaked sound volumes so they don't drown out the music
- Added separate level score and thus fixed death-for-more-points bug
- Begun working on level 3
- May make proper end-level screen

Everything except music and sounds is made by me (programming in Game Maker 8), yes. So far, it has taken 4-5 days (sleep included), but i reckon it will take at least another day for every missing level, so in the end it'll probably end up taking around a month.

Aye, i'm pretty sure you could do most, if not all of what i've done here so far. Sometimes it would require a tad more work, but it's entirely possible.

@Shopaw: Thanks, and i hope so. :U

@Chartle: Ouch. :|

Also, new demo is up, now with level 3 and (almost) proper level endings. However, the highscore tables have been removed (kind of), because it was ugly and unnecessary. :U
Also, with level 3, i've also made the level 4 enemy, Blockface MK2. These guys are going to be annoying, but perhaps not quite as much as the sentries, which are bound to give you hell in level 3 and forward.

Get it here.

That's what all bossfights are about, isn't it? ;)
Also, yes, pause button. I concur fully. The one problem that might arise is that you might get to hear where i rudely chopped the music off, which you otherwise wouldn't hear at all.

@Splinter:

@clnb: Awesome.

@Zapachoo: Thanks, and yeah, everything except sounds and music is by me. Not counting Game Maker of course.

@Chartle: Hmm, neat idea. Also, music gone, you say? Odd. How did that happen?

Also, i've now implemented cash, XP and levels. Now i just need to make these values useful, because right now they're just numbers. :U

Huh, odd. Does it still happen, or was it an isolated happening? Also, here's a screenie to show you what little i've been working on.

XP BAR WOO

@Infern0o: Progress bar? Perhaps, if i can figure out how. Also, i have a decent idea for a balanced shield: It takes one hit (or maybe a few more with higher levels) and then disappears for a while. It can save you from a few shots of varying power (depending on shield level), but a barrage of fire will easily break through it.

@cocacobra: Game Maker 8. There's a free edition and a pay version. The latter costs 25 USD.

Also, super mega early shop preview which lacks every functionality:

It'll look better once i get all the icons and buttons and such in there. Compare to this design sketch:

So yeah, saving and loading will be an option.

A next level button?
Shouldn't you come to the next level if you manage to beat the current level?

Also, what program/language are you using to create the game?

Sorry if the questions are already answered on some page, I didn't bother to browse through them all.
