Got to ask how do you guys usually play the game?Any useful tips or anything with regarding to staying alive,and fighting monsters?

Also,I've noticed that the game lags a lot for me,and that's playing it on a computer that runs toribash at 60fps.

go straight to a house or clothing store, then a gun store, then kill all the things

then go to a pharmacy for med, then explore town to town and kill things

also reading books is helpful but takes a lot of time

also try not to make noise it will attract zomboids

also your computer sucks

Also yeah, my current character (chuckninja) is living a carefree life in the middle of the ocean free from zombies.
He chugged some mutagen and grew 6 tentacles for feet and mouth flaps, increasing his swimming speed by quite a bit. Zombies don't swim. This can only go well. I only leave the sweet loving embrace of the deep for sleep and food.

He saw two zombies so shot a gas station with a fucking shot gun.
