Pms are not posts as far as I'm aware. You don't see him post because you do not have access to the areas that he posts in. The reports board is an example of this.

There's no way that I know of of sorting people by post count or the likes. Most people who have a large post count are active and have been around for a long time or spend lots of time making posts in the market. So yea, high post counts stick out and people can recall them back in threads like these.
