I really need tips and any other information on how to make a metallic effect in gimp.

I think it's good this way.
I personally prefeer robotic heads without all the fancy shining effects.

The lines looks kinda messed up, well I'm going to fix those later. Thank you for the CnC anyway guys.

I think your style of robotic may looks better if you put some outlines in the middle of the plates, will give deepth effect too.
Try to raise the visor a bit and will be good.
I like the colour theme, and the back mapping looks pretty nice!

I'm gonna have to agree with him ^^^ the eyes/ visor do look a bit to low and also in the back of the head the platting looks a little sloppy and there are to Many plates the head looks like it's supposed to be "simple" but there you have lots of small prices

i dislike how low the face mask is and most of your lines aren't sharp enough
